Life after high school

Wow, it's been a long time.... might as well get everything up to this point. In the las post I mentioned sterling scholar, I didn't get that but I would have been shocked if I did. The girl who got it is a very talented artist and deserved to win it. I went to prom with my good friend, Melody and we had an awesome time. I did a medical assisting externship at 2 offices, the first a family practice and the other, a fertility clinic. At the family practie, I didn't really fit it-- I have too strong of a personality where the others were the perky, happy, submissive type. I finished the other half at an amazing fertility clinic in spanish fork. I loved it there and was not excited to leave. I soon recieved my Utah Endorsed Medical Assisting certificate and will be looking for a Job in the near future. I graduated from Jordan High School last wednesday. (thank goodness that's over) Since then, I have been cleaning, catching up on sleep, and visiting family. In the last week of June, I will be going to FLorida to compete in the national HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) conference. I recieved 4th at state in the medical laboratory assisting competition and got bumped up to 2nd, which enables me to go. I will post more details later!

Life

I haven't gotten the chance to get online very much since school got into routine. But at this point, I applied for the sterling scholar for Jordan High School in the visual arts category. It's down to me and one other girl, I am super nervous! I hope that goes well... Not much has happened except for homecoming. I went with a guy I didn't really know so I was kinda weird and I probably scared him a little bit. I wore a beautiful but flourescent pink dress and went with Melody, Arina, Aubrie, Robert, the other Robert (we decided to call him Bob-rick, for reasons I don't quite understand), Jacob, and Ryan (my date) I had fun even though he was quiet. I will try to get more updates more frequently. Thanks for reading!!

Life at this point

I will be 18 this coming Thursday, and I'm not quite sure what to think... Life has been an emotional rollercoaster lately-- drama, loneliness, and tons and tons of homework. In my Medical Assisting class, it has been a sprint. There is no day off, there is always something to fill out, study, and read. It's been very stressful but I do love it! I hope I will continue to be able to handle the pressure!!
As I may have mentioned in an earlier post, I was called to serve in the special needs mutual for my area, and so far it's been great and a little chaotic. The first activity, I found that the girl I was assigned had moved so I was left without a "buddy". But in the middle of our class discussion, a cute down's syndrome girl came and gave me a big hug and refused to leave my side, and I hadn't even said a word to her. It made my day to know that she had picked me, though it made me feel bad because the girl she was assigned, she picked me over her. The second week was a Luau and there were about 100 youth at this activity because it was combined with the other classes. The cute girl who attached herself to me the previous week had wandered to one of the other leaders in the class. Though I have been left "buddyless" again, I was glad she saw something in me that others ignored. I hope being a leader for the special needs youth continues to be a great experience.
I recently applied for a job at Torrid, a clothing store in the mall. I felt that I had a great chance at getting the job but was sadly turned away. I hope to eventually find one soon... I have no clue on how I'm going to pay for college, so I've decided to go for the Jordan High School Sterling Scholar program in the visual arts category, I hope to get somewhere with that.
That's about it for my life... for now at least... until next time ;D

My Life at the Moment

On Wednesday, it's the first day of school. I'm definately not excited, who is? I mean, sure, I love learning and all but the school atmosphere isn't really what I'd prefer. Though I am excited to do the medical assisting course at JATC. It's nice to see school finally pay off for my future. I will be able to become an actual medical assistant the day I graduate. Though I don't want to be an MA for the rest of my life, it is a nice step towards my larger goals. Being a senior will be weird for me, just the fact that there is no more high school after this! When school starts, I will have updates on how that goes.
Yesterday, I got a letter from my missionary! I was so thrilled, I almost did a happy dance! When I saw the letter sitting there on my desk, I couldn't help but smile. Though Sean only went on 2 dates and hung out a few times, I felt a certain connection that made it hard to let him go. I wrote him back today, filling 2 pages full of hand-written expressions of how happy I was to hear from him, how I missed him, and how proud I am that he had chosen to go. Devoting 2 years of your life to do work for the church is not an easy thing to do, I imagine. He has told me that the lessons he is learning and the experiences he's already had have been amazing, for that I am glad. I hope he comes home safe, happy, and without a kentucky accent. It will have been 2 weeks on Wednesday.
Something else new, I have decided that I need a logo for business cards, web page, ect. I could use help on ideas. so please leave comments with ideas. (and I'd LOVE comments on my other posts as well!!!)

Originally, this was a picture of Taylor Swift, but I tweaked and modefied
the facial features. So now she looks reminiscient of Taylor, but not entirely like her.
I'm not a fan of her music, but Taylor Swift is gorgeous and I just had to draw her.

I chose the dark background for this one because the original sketch
of her made her look concerned, frightened, and maybe a hint of shame.
I was also in a dark room at the time, it's funny where inspiration can come from.

Nothing really in particular for this one. She just
looks like she's laying in the sun to me.
